After the MRI was done. The staff at the neurologist said it would take a couple of days before the results were in. So, my wife and I left. We were talking about everything. We found out that aneurisms ran on my mom's side. She had one, her dad had one and he passed because of it. His father had one she told us. So, we thought that would be the problem.
The following day we got a call from the neurologist. He said to come in today and gave us a time Okay this can't be good. Still, we thought aneurisms. We didn't know at that time that the doctor had already sent the images to Henry Ford Hospital. He also had a phone consultation all set up. If we would have known, we probably would have panicked.
When we arrived, they took us right back to a room. There was no waiting, the doctor came right in. He was showing us the results of the scan. Of course, we had no idea what we were looking at. Then he pointed out a huge white mass. The next words we heard gave us a sick feeling in our gut. My wife seemed in shock. I wasn't in any better condition. 'Mr. Powell you have a benign tumor of cerebral meninges. Otherwise, a brain tumor.' Silence filled the room.
